Lewis-Clark State College Honors Local Historian and Celebrates 125th Anniversary
Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho is celebrating the 125th anniversary of its founding in 1893 . The institution was founded as Lewiston State Normal School. It became Northern Idaho College of Education in 1947 before changing its name to Lewis-Clark Normal School in 1955 and then Lewis-Clark State College in 1971. Local historian and retired educator Steve Branting was honored in late June 2018 with the title of “ Lewis-Clark State College Institutional Historian ” by college president, J. Anthony Fernandez. Branting is an alum and is featured in an excellent video of the institution's history, " Definded by Perseverance ," that is available for viewing on YouTube .
