Oregon Public Broadcasting posted an excellent article by April Baer on November 1, 2018, " Oregon Art Schools PNCA And OCAC Vote To Merge ."  Baer reports that the "...governing boards for Oregon College of Art and Craft and Pacific Northwest College of Art will spend the next month working on a memorandum of understanding..." to guide a merger of the two institutions. OCAC was founded as the Arts and Crafts Society in 1907 . The name changed to the Oregon School of Arts and Crafts in 1978 and the BFA program was added in 1994.  The name changed to Oregon College of Art and Craft in 1996.  OCAC enrolls 143 students. PNCA opened in 1909 as the School of the Portland Art Association . It soon became known as the Museum Art School. The first BFA awarded in 1969 and the name changed to Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1981.  PNCA's last enrollment reported to IPEDS was 512 students. Scott Jaschik of Inside Higher Ed reported this morning in " Mercy of Ohio Will Join Bowling Green State University ."  You can read an announcement on the BGSU website, " BGSU, Mercy Health announce partnership to grow health care education ."  There is also an announcement on the Mercy College website, " Mercy Health and Bowling Green State Sign Letter of Intent ." Mercy College of Ohio is in the midst of a centennial for its  founding as school of nursing in 1918 by the Sisters of Mercy. Mercy College of Ohio was incorporated in 1992. BGSU was founded in 1910 as Bowling Green State Normal College. The name changed to Bowling Green State College in 1929 and then to Bowling Green State University in 1935. Claire Lowe of the Press of Atlantic City reports that, " Cumberland and Gloucester county colleges take next step toward merger ." Lowe indicates that administrators of both institutions signed agreements to proceed with a merger by July 1, 2019. Inside Higher Ed 's Rick Seltzer also posted information on the merger in " New Jersey 2-Year Colleges Pursue Merger ," and indicates the merged institutions will be known as Rowan College of South Jersey. Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) is a collaboration between the former Gloucester County College and Rowan University.  Gloucester County College located in Sewell, NJ was founded in 1968.   Cumberland County College  of Vineland, NJ was founded in 1966. New England College and the New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA) announced that they intend to complete a merger of the two institutions by October 1, 2018.     New England College is located in Henniker, NH and was founded in 1946.  Located in Manchester, NH, the New Hampshire Institute of Art was initially founded in 1898 as the  Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences.   You can also read more about the planned merger in reporting by the New Hampshire Union Leader, " New England College, New Hampshire Institute of Art to merge ." The Tennessean reports today that Belmont University and will acquire O'More College of Design  of Franklin, TN and move O'More's programs to Nashville, TN by fall 2018.  You can read an announcement on the Belmont web site, " Belmont University Acquires O’More College of Design, Move to Nashville Effective Fall 2018 ." O'More was founded as O'More School of Interior Architecture and Design in 1970.  It is a non-profit institution with enrollment of 170 students. Belmont traces its roots to Belmont Junior College that was founded in 1890.  It was known as Ward-Belmont after a merger with Ward Seminary in 1913.  Assets of the institution were then acquired by the Tennessee Baptist Convention which opened Belmont College in 1951.  Belmont became independent after 2005.  You can visit the Belmont website for an historical timeline . The Chicago Tribune reported on January 18, 2018 " Kendall College sells programs and name to National Louis University for $1 ."  Kendall has been operating since 2005 as a for-profit institution and was owned by Laureate Education, Inc. National Louis University posted a statement on its website, " National Louis University announcesagreement with Kendall College and Laureate Education, Inc. to transferKendall's current programs to NLU, contingent on regulatory approvals ." Kendall College was founded in 1934 when a Swedish seminary and a Danish-Norwegian seminary located in downtown Evanston, IL agreed to merge their assets and form the Evanston Collegiate Institute.  The name changed to Kendall College in 1950.  Kendall initially offered two year degrees and baccalaureate programs were added after 1977.  It was known for its School of Culinary Arts which was started in 1985.  Kendall moved to downtown Chicago in 2005 from Evanston and also became part of La...

Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) and Wichita State University announced today that WATC will affiliate with WSU to become the Witchita State University Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology .  WATC was founded in 1965 and enrolls roughly 3,500 students.
