Columbia University offers a self-guided walking tour in New York City that features 25 sites along with information about the surrounding Morningside Heights neighborhood.  The tour web page includes links for a tour podcast in a variety of formats by Andrew Dolkart, a popular architectural historian and professor of architectural history at Columbia's School of Architecture.  There is also a 16-page .pdf with map and information on the various sites .

Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO developed a self-guided walking tour of the campus that features a dozen historically significant buildings.  The sites on the tour are all listed on the  National Register of Historic Places or the State Register of Historic Properties .  The initial web page includes a helpful map with hot links to pages for each of the respective buildings.  You can also find a 20-page .pdf, " Colorado College Historic Building Walking Tour ," with information on the institution and each building included in the tour.  Colorado College was founded in 1874.

SCRIPPS College of Communications at Ohio University  in Athens, OH posted, " COMS seniors holdhistorical virtual, walking tours of campus ," last spring with information on a class project that involved students matching alumni memories with historical images from the Ohio UniversityArchives  and Special Collections and other campus information.  Students then used the website Histoypin.org to create virtual walkingtours of the campus .

Tarleton State University Library Special Collections and Archives offers a number of innovative ways to access institutional history and traditions.  You can view a number of images and brief descriptions through the " Tarleton State University Campus History Tour ," on the Historypin site. There is also a " Timeline of Tarleton History " created using Tiki-Toki web-based timeline software.  You can quickly scan historical images selected from the archives and click on any of interest for more information. Links are also provided off an About Us drop down menu for a number of resources.  The History & Heritage Book is a 70-page document that includes a comprehensive array of institutional information from the history of campus buildings through origins of campus traditions and everything in between. Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA offers a  campus history tour  with historic images of the peninsula from before the institution moved to it's current location.   Photographs with brief historical sketches are provided for:  1.   Mieras Hall 2.   Greek Amphitheatre 3.   Public Safety 4.   Lotus House 5.   Cabrillo Hall 6.   Bresee Alumni House 7.   Culbertson Hall Point Loma University was founded in 1910 as Pacific Bible College in Pasadena, CA.  The name changed to Pasadena College in 1919.  The institution moved to Point Loma in San Diego in 1973.  You can visit the institution's web site for a brief historical overview .

Emory University offers a mobile tour of the campus using historical materials from the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library.  The web interface provides an overview ofEmory's history by linking text, videos, and photographs with a map . The online tour allows users to toggle between the map view and the text of each tour stop. Users can also access an expanded menu to learn more about the tour and other campus history resources. A self guided Walking Tour of Princeton has been created by the Princeton Regional Conventionand Visitors Bureau . Some of the sites on the tour include: Albert Einstein House Princeton Theological Seminary, founded in 1811. Palmer Square Nassau Presbyterian Church MacLean House, built in 1756. The official residence of college presidents until 1878. Nassau Hall, the largest stone building in America when completed. University Chapel, one of the most beautiful buildings on campus. It was built between 1925 and 1928. University Art Museum, erected in 1889. Prospect House and Garden given to the College in 1878 for use as a residence for the presidents. Claremont Heritage offers guided and self-guided walking tours featuring the historic and architectural sites associated with The Claremont Colleges .  The web site also includes representative photographs of tour sites from  Pomona College,  Claremont Graduate University,  Scripps College,  Claremont McKenna College,  Harvey Mudd College, and  Pitzer College.

The University of Maryland is offering an  African-American History and the University of Maryland: A Campus Landmark Tour .  The self-guided walking tour of the campus commissioned by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion highlights landmarks associated with the impact of African Americans at the university and throughout history.   The landing page for the tour notes, "From its antebellum founding through the present day, Terp life has been shaped by more than just those who wrote the official version of history. There was a time when students and visitors of color were outsiders here, but through the sacrifices of earlier pioneers—reflected in our campus fabric—each brick and blade of glass belongs to them as well." The materials used in developing the tour and related website were drawn from campus reports and the university libraries and archives. Jenny Barker-Devine, associate professor of history, and students in her digital history class are featured by Illinois College in " Students bring new app to Jacksonville community ."  The post indicates that the class worked with the Clio app and website to identify key historical sites on the campus and in the community of Jacksonville, IL where the Illinois College is located.
